The Bangladesh Cricket Board has thanked Pakistan for its efforts in the ICCT 20 World Cup.
After Sri Lanka and UAE, Bangladesh Cricket Board asked Pakistan to play a match against India.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board issued a statement thanking the Pakistan Cricket Board for the positive response.
BCB specially thanked the Chairman PCB and said that he supported us during this time.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh had requested a change of venues for their participation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 in India and had expressed security concerns for their team, which was rejected by the ICC.
Bangladesh announced that they would withdraw from the event in protest, so instead of talking to Bangladesh, the ICC excluded Bangladesh from the event and included Scotland.
Later, Pakistan termed the Cricket Council’s move as a double standard and shocked the cricket world by announcing a boycott of the match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh.
Later, ICC tried to convince Pakistan and in this regard, a meeting was held between ICC Vice President, Bangladesh Cricket Board President and Pakistan Cricket Board President for more than 4 hours.
Earlier, the President of Sri Lanka contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and requested him to end the boycott of the Pakistan team against India and allow the team to play the match.
