Report: Shakeel Yameen Kanga………Senior Asim Qureshi set a record in the table tennis event of the National Games by winning the silver medal in mixed doubles.

The women’s football title was won by Pakistan Army by defeating Pakistan Wapdako and Team Sindh finished third.

Pakistan Army has won 144 gold medals.

Asim Qureshi and Saria Falak of WAPDA performed impressively in the table tennis final held at Islamia Club Soldier Bazar and reached the mixed doubles final.

Unfortunately, the duo could not beat Punjab’s Fatima Khan and Owais Hassan and managed to win the silver medal.

59-year-old Asim Qureshi not only remembered for his magnificent performance in the final, but also set a Games record by winning the silver medal as the oldest player.

Meanwhile, in the women’s football match played at Kukri Ground, Lyari, Pakistan Army defeated Pakistan WAPDA 0-1 after a sensational match.

In the third division match, Shengal defeated KPK 0-12 in a one-sided match.

At the end of the match, awards were distributed to the players and officials.

In the closing ceremony, Singal Football Union President Ezam Khan, Secretary Nasir Ahmed Askani and Organization Secretary Tahir Beloch gave awards to the players.

Pakistan Army won the overall trophy in men’s and WAPDA in women’s competition.

In the men’s event, Pakistan Army came first with 16 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze medals, WAPDA came second with 3 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals and Navy came third with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.

In the women’s division, WAPDA came first with 16 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, HEC came second with 2 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze medals and Army came third with 3 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.
