Argentina’s star footballer Lionel Messi looked troubled by illness during his visit to India, which forced the event to end after 22 minutes.

According to Indian media, world football great Lionel Messi’s highly publicized visit to Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium ended in just 22 minutes.

This situation was enough to expose the current state of Indian football and the gross mismanagement of the state administration.

What was billed as a historic celebration turned into chaos and confusion due to poor planning, weak policing and misplaced priorities.

Thousands of fans who bought tickets for Rs 4,000 to Rs 12,000 and some even for Rs 20,000 in the black market missed out on a glimpse of their favorite player, resulting in chaos outside and inside the stadium.

According to this report, this is Messi’s second visit to Kolkata as part of his tour of India which consists of four cities Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.

This visit comes at a time when the Indian football team has reached the 142nd position in the FIFA ranking, which is the worst position since October 2016.

Around 50,000 fans were present at the stadium during the ceremony.

After the exhibition of former footballers, Lionel Messi arrived at the stadium at 11:30 with Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul.

Within moments, Messi was surrounded by politicians, VVIPs, police officers and their aides, completely obscuring the public view.
