After the humiliating defeat to India in the T20 World Cup, former national cricket team captain Shahid Khan Afridi has demanded that Babar Azam, Shaheen Afrini and Shadab Khan sit out.

In the T20 World Cup 2026 round, India easily defeated Pakistan, the fast bowlers and spinners of the national team looked completely unsuccessful.

Then, in pursuit of 176 runs, the national batsmen as usual swept the nation, except for Usman Khan, none of the players could stay on the wicket for long, while the 7-man Milkar could not score 20 runs.

After India’s defeat in a special TV programme, Shahid Khan Afridi asked senior players to sit down and give new players a chance.

Speaking in the program, the former captain said that if it was me, I would have sat Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan in the next match against Namibia and given the opportunity to the new guys sitting in their place.

He also said that since these great players are playing but if they don’t show this performance in such an important match, then their presence in the team is of no use.

Martyr Efrini also criticized the captain’s decisions and said that it is beyond understanding not to leave Usman Tariq behind after 10 matches with Fahim Ashraf.
