England have suffered a major blow as they try to bounce back in the ICC World Test Championship series against Australia.
According to the English Cricket Board, fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the series due to a left knee injury.
According to the ECB, after a medical examination, it was decided that Mark Wood will return home this weekend.
The English board say Mark Wood will work with the medical team on his full fitness and Matthew Fisher has been included in the squad.
It is worth noting here that the absence of Mark Wood will be a significant loss for England’s bowling attack, especially at a time when the team needs a comeback in the order.
It is worth mentioning that England lost in the first two matches of the Ashes series, Australia won by 8 wickets in the first and second Test matches and the third match of the series will be played from December 17 in Adelaide.
