The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift the match from India.
According to the BCB statement, BCB held a meeting with the ICC delegation in which the team’s participation in the T20 World Cup 2026 was discussed.
According to the statement, the official request of the ICC delegation to change the Bangladesh matches to another place was made in the meeting.
According to BCB’s statement, the Bangladesh government’s instructions and security concerns were shared with the ICC delegation during the meeting.
According to the statement, all the discussions were held in a constructive, pleasant and professional atmosphere, the parties openly discussed the relevant issues.
According to the BCB statement, the possibility of transferring Bangladesh to another group was also discussed on logistical issues.
According to the statement, the ICC delegation includes General Manager, Events and Corporate Communications, Gaurav Saxena and General Manager of the Integrity Unit, Andrew Effergrave.
According to the BCB statement, Gaurav Saxena attended the meeting due to visa delay.
According to the announcement, board officials including BCB President Eminul Islam, Deputy President Shikawat Hisen attended the meeting. At the end of the meeting, BCB and ICC agreed to continue discussions on the issue.
