The Lahore High Court declared the business of a snooker club legitimate and legal.
Judge Javad Zafer issued a 5-page written decision on the appeal of Shahri Muhammad Rashid and annulled the court’s decision to close the snooker club.
The court decision stated that running a snooker club is a legal and recreational activity and therefore no law prohibits it.
The written resolution stated that according to the constitution every citizen has the right to do legal work, billiards and snooker games are neither immoral nor prohibited by law.
The court said that a business operating within the framework of the law cannot be closed indefinitely on unspecified complaints.
According to the petition, he used to run a snooker club in Sargodha and through the snooker club entertainment was provided to the public by playing billiards.
