The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the details of the negotiations with PCB and BCB.
In a statement, the ICC said that Bangladesh will not be penalized for missing the T20 World Cup 2026, and will also be given an opportunity to take ICC action.
The International Cricket Council says the Bangladesh Cricket Board will host the event between 2028 and 2031.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh had requested a change of venues for their participation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 in India and had expressed security concerns for their team, which was rejected by the ICC.
Bangladesh announced that they would withdraw from the event in protest, so instead of talking to Bangladesh, the ICC excluded Bangladesh from the event and included Scotland.
Later, Pakistan termed the Cricket Council’s move as a double standard and shocked the cricket world by announcing a boycott of the match against India in solidarity with Bangladesh.
Later, ICC tried to convince Pakistan and in this regard, a meeting was held between ICC Vice President, Bangladesh Cricket Board President and Pakistan Cricket Board President for more than 4 hours.
