The England Cricket Board has announced the 12-man squad for the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia in Sydney.
Matthew Potts and Shoaib Bashir are among the players announced by the English Board for the fifth Test match.
Both these players have not played a Test on the tour so far, but at least one of them is likely to get a chance in the playing XI after Gus Atkinson was injured.
The final Ashes Test squad against Australia, led by Ben Stokes, consisted of Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethel, Harry Brook, Bryden Carrs, Zac Crowley, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith and Josh Tong.
It is worth mentioning that under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, the English team made a remarkable comeback in the Melbourne Test and won after losing the first three matches.
The win in Melbourne was England’s first Test win in Australia since 2011. The final Test match of the Ashes series will be played in Sydney from January 4.
