Five teams that have included cricketers of Pakistani origin in their squads for the T20 World Cup 2026 are facing difficulties in getting visas to India.
According to sources, Canada, Italy, Oman, the United States and the United Arab Emirates wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and gave information about the difficulties of obtaining a visa.
Sources say that ICC and BCCI have not yet given any response to these countries.
Earlier too, two Pakistani origin players of the England team were issued visas very late.
Shoaib Bashir and Saqib Mahmoud from the English team could not play several matches due to the visa problem.
Despite having a British passport, there are visa issues with Pakistan. Due to the strict policies of the Indian government, players of Pakistani origin take up to 90 days to get a visa.
It is worth mentioning that the official start of the World Cup will be from February 7.
