Report: Soheyl Imran. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) once again faced the problem of non-payment of debts.
According to Bangladeshi media, the issue of non-payment came to light at the end of the 12th edition when the BPL Governing Council wrote to all the franchises to clear the arrears.
Bangladeshi media say that in the letter written on January 27, it is requested that the arrears be paid within 15 days. During the 12th edition of BPL, the issue of non-payment did not arise like last year.
A player said the franchises have paid 25 percent so far, the players’ checks bounced on January 20, one might ask, the franchise champion Rajshahi Warriors claimed to have cleared all the money.
BPL Member Secretary Iftihar Rehman said that some franchisees should clear their debts according to the contracts, all the lists have been presented to them and they have been given 15 days.
