The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the exclusion of Bangladesh from the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The ICC has announced that Team Bangladesh has been pulled out of the T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka and has been replaced by Scotland.
In an official statement, the ICC said that the Scotland team will participate in the mega event.
The ICC statement said that Bangladesh refused to play T20 World Cup matches in India and wanted to shift their matches to Sri Lanka.
The statement stated that the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) held extensive discussions on the matter for more than 3 weeks.
In the ICC statement, it was also said that they should contact the BCB and their concerns have been evaluated in every way.
The statement said that the ICC has shared all the points with the BCB and the International Cricket Council has given assurances to the Bangladesh Board through its platform.
In Wednesday’s board meeting, Bangladesh was asked to confirm within 24 hours, the statement said.
According to the ICC statement, no confirmation was received from the BCB at the time of the deadline, the transfer team decided according to the procedure.
In the statement, it was said that Scotland is the 14th ranked team that did not participate in the tournament, and is in a better position than the 7 teams that are already in the tournament, Namibia, UAE, Nepal, USA, Canada, Oman and Italy.
Mohsin Naqvi spoke to the media in Lahore and said that Bangladesh has been exploited, a country cannot give orders to anyone.
He said that the same should be done with Bangladesh as was decided in the India-Pak issue. Bangladesh is an equal country.
Mohsin Naqvi said, if the dictator takes place, then Pakistan also has a position and we will stay on our position, first the government will make the decision, then plan A, B and C are all ready.
