The England Cricket Board has announced an investigation into allegations of excessive drinking by players during the Ashes series.
According to reports, the England team spent four nights in the Queensland coastal city of Noosa between the second and third Tests, where questions were asked about the activities of some players.
Various media outlets, including the British Broadcasting Corporation, have claimed that some of the players have been drinking heavily during their stay in Noosa as well as in Brisbane.
Although England performed better than ever in the third Test in Adelaide, they were still defeated and Australia took an unassailable 0-3 lead in the series in just 11 days.
England Cricket Manager Rob Key said in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation that sometimes the title seems different from the reality.
He said that if it is true that the players continued to drink heavily for several days in a row, this is unacceptable and the matter will be fully investigated.
Rob Kay pointed out that he is not a supporter of the drinking culture and that it is important to know the real facts.
He said the Noosa break had been arranged before the tour and all the players in the team were there, with photos and videos released due to media presence.
The England Cricket Board will now investigate the allegations in detail.
