PCB, ICC and Bangladesh officials held a long meeting in Lahore on the ICCT Twenty20 in which the ICC delegation asked Pakistan to review the decision not to play the match against India.
According to information, the discussion with the ICC delegation at the Gaddafi camp has been in a good mood. After discussing the issues that were discussed in the long meeting, now ICC representative Imran Khawaja will inform the details of the meeting.
Pakistan has made these reservations and its position clear through arguments. The ICC Vice-President emphasized that the decision not to play the match against India should be reconsidered. He believed that Pakistan should play the match against India in the wider interest of cricket.
In the meeting, Imran Khawaja also supported the position of Pakistan and Bangladesh on some issues and indicated that they should eliminate the concerns of PCB and Bangladesh Cricket Committee.
According to Imran Khawaja’s report, the ICC will inform the PCB about Pakistan’s terms and proposals within a few days.
On the other hand, in the next phase, PCB President Mohsin Naqvi will give information to Prime Minister Shehba Sharif on the issues discussed in the meeting. The president of the Pakistan Cricket Board made it clear in the meeting that the decision should be taken by the government.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh had requested to host their T20 World Cup matches in Sri Lanka instead of India due to threats from Hindu extremists and security concerns.
Against this decision, Pakistan, with the support of Bangladesh, registered its violent protest and as a protest, it boycotted the group match against India on February 15.
