The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved naming the enclosures of the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar after the players of the national team that led Pakistan to a historic victory in the 1992 World Cup.
In this regard, a summary has been sent to the provincial government by the Sports Administration and has been officially approved.
According to the authorities, after the conclusion of the T20 Cup, the process of naming different stadiums after the names of the national team players will be started.
It is worth remembering that Pakistan in the 1992 World Cup under the leadership of captain Imran Khan, the winning team included Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Aqib Javed, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saleem Malik, Ejaz Ahmed, Aamir Soheil, Rameez Raja, Mushtaq Ahmed, Iqbal Khashim Wasimdar, Mushtaq Ahmed, Iqbal Khasikandar, Iqbal Sikandar.
According to Director General Sports Tashfin Haider, the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium enclosures are named after the players of the 1992 World Cup winning team, which has been approved by the provincial government and official work on the project will begin after the T20 tournament.
