Indian player Abhishek Sharma landed in big trouble for violating the code of conduct during an IPL match.
According to Indian media reports, Abhishek Sharma was penalized and given a point blank for violating the code of conduct in the match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.
According to reports, after being dismissed, Abhishek Sharma was upset with his reaction and was fined 25 percent of the match fee and given a demerit point.
His dismissal was upheld after an on-field investigation, but he appeared unsatisfied with the decision.
The incident happened when Varun Chakraborty caught him off the ball of Blessing Mazarabani, where Abhishek stood on the stump for a while and expressed his feelings and returned to the pavilion with gestures.
Abhishek pleaded guilty to a Level 1 offense under Article 2.3 and accepted the match referee’s decision, an IPL statement said.
According to the rules, the match referee’s decision on a level 1 infringement is final and binding.
This incident also shows the emotional pressure in the match and the fiercely competitive nature of the players.
