Australia’s Minister of Home Affairs, Tony Burke, stated that 2 more Arakans from the Iranian women’s football team have received asylum, and thus the number of players of the Iranian women’s football team who have taken refuge in Australia has reached 7.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said in a message on social media: “I flew from Sydney to Brisbane last night to find out if any other members of the Iranian women’s football team needed support in Australia, but one player and one member of the sports team asked to stay in Australia.”

Tony Burke said, “I have signed the humanitarian visa papers and now we are welcoming them to Australia. They are all safe here.”

On the other hand, players who have committed to Australia have been recommended by the Brisbane Roar Football Club to pursue their careers in the A-League.

The remaining members of the Iran Women’s Football Team left Australia for Iran’s Malaysia. It is worth mentioning that during the Asian Women’s Cup in Australia, the Iranian football players did not sing the national anthem, on which they were called war traitors.
